Nate Heim and the Heim Log Homes crew escape freezing Minnesota and head down to Gilmer, Texas, on a mission to build a Norwegian-style cabin fit for a fire chief. Their client, Eric Metzger, is used to calling the shots. He spent nearly three decades with the Dallas Fire Department, but now that he’s retired, Eric and his wife are ready to get back to their rural roots. They have a small farm and Nate knows exactly what they need: a 2,100-square-foot Norwegian-style log masterpiece. Once the logs and crew are headed to Texas, Nate makes a quick stop in Heber City, Utah, home of the Timber Moose Lodge. Matt and Spencer Evans own and operate the magnificent log retreat and they’ve called in Nate to elevate its entrance to something truly extraordinary. Nate and his crew work through obstacles such as a broken sawmill winch, uneven walls and unexpected requests to ensure that their clients are delighted with their cabins in the end.
