Easter Island Underworld
I was about to write a critique about how bad the pop ups were and read the one below me and can only add, I agree 100%. When I go to see what's on the NG channel, too many times it's about Prisons, Taboos, Dooms Day Preppers, or Drugs. I thought I found something new and interesting this time, boy was I wrong!
The constant, annoying popups with grade-school "facts" made this film literally unwatchable. It is incredible that National Geographic's once-classy (and classic) documentaries have sunk to such a juvenile level as "Easter Island Underworld" and the equally embarrassing "Stonehenge Decoded."
The pop ups were absolutely unbearable. I was pausing the show to read the pop up then rewind to listen to the commentary I finally had to stop watching it so annoying.
please dont ever show pop ups like they did. i turned the show off very sad...sure it was a great show to watch.
omg i agree i had to stop watching because those pop ups...too bad never thougth the station would that with the pop ups very childish. i wish as well i could watch it without the pop ups. For the record as i said i did stop watching and ig there are shows like this again I will turn off when i see the pop ups
I thought the program was really interesting, but I was bothered by the useless 'ironic' comments which popped up every few seconds. It really cheapened the high quality production of the episode. Eventually I stopped watching the show. It seemed like the comments were aimed at 1st or 2nd graders. "The Pacific Ocean is the world's largest ocean." They were so bad, I really can't even imagine who would green-light something like that. I'm under 30, I appreciate wit, sarcasm, and irony, but not when I watch what was otherwise a very serious documentary about a culture's collapse. I actually specifically sought out this page to leave a comment in hopes that a producer somewhere will get the message. I'd love to re-watch the episode without them.
