The Ruffin Nichols Memorial Church was built in 1844 as an Episcopal church serving a wealthy Philadelphia community. Everything from its massive stone facade, lavish sanctuary to its ornate stain glass windows is a testament to Gilded Age Philadelphia. As the neighborhood declined, the congregation dwindled, and today the empty building faces imminent destruction - putting an end to the building's 160-year-long reign as the center of its neighborhood. -
