A set of sailor's binoculars presented to the collector's great-grandfather, Captain Walter John Thompson of Savannah. The binoculars were presented to him by the British government because he rescued a shipwrecked crew of a steamship called the "Benhope."

Russian Czar Bench
An iron bench made in Czar Alexander’s iron foundry outside St. Petersburg, Russia. This bench was given to William Scarborough. He was the sort of founder of the Savannah Steamship Company. It came from Russia on the steamship Savannah, the first steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

Fossilized prehistoric Megalodon shark tooth. This is the ancestor of the modern great white, Carcharodon Carcharias. This shark tooth is almost six inches long. It’s in near perfect condition and it’s been buried for millions of years.

A photograph of Abraham Lincoln. The photo is from a Mathew Brady negative from 1862. Mathew Brady is the father of photojournalism. His portraits of the president were used to make the penny and the five-dollar bill.
