Tim and George are out early searching for "civ" (Civil War artifacts) in front of the Inn at Meander Plantation in Orange, Virginia. During the Civil War, the confederate owners of this property are believed to have buried silver and valuables in a strongbox to protect their goods from being stolen by Union troops. -
Meander Plantation
Now a converted bed-and-breakfast, Meander Plantation was built around 1766. During the Civil War, the property was owned by a confederate family, but was taken over by Union troops. It is located 10 miles from the Brandy Station battlefield, site of the largest Cavalry battle fought in the U.S. -
