Omens of the Apocalypse: The End is Near

Published
X-rays show four dead blackbirds from Beebe, Arkansas. The cause of the deaths was a mystery to investigators for a long time. It is pieced together though later that the cause of death was unusually loud fireworks combined with favorable sound conduction and a high number of birds wintering in Beebe. The distress calls of a few blackbirds may have scared much of the roost into the air in a snowball effect.
The year 2011 gets off to a disturbing start. On New Year's Eve, blackbirds die in Beebe, Arkansas by the thousands.
