A cloissone sword pommel. The hoard contains 86 sword pommel caps. The pommel cap is the tip of the hilt of the sword that anchors the hilt fittings to the sword blade. Single pommel caps are incredibly rare as archaeological finds, so to discover 86 together is unprecedented.
