Ghost Ships of the Black Sea
This was a spell-binding program. Unfortunately the pop-up boxes almost convinced me to change the channel. Come on guys; this was just about the most irritating idea that anyone has put on TV in a very long time.
This was one of the most fascinating programs I have attempted to watch in a while on NG. I say attempted, because the entire length of the show I had to try to screen out the VERY annoying "water droplet sounds", and the little boxes with innane "notes", that were sometimes related to the content of the program, and very often, were not. I don't know if this is some kind of "value-added" project, or a lame attempt to "bridge the gap" between those with and those without sufficient intelligence and education to actually follow and understand at least some of the show. I am not in any way suggesting that only uber-smart, Ph. D.s should be watching NG; I think anyone can watch the channel and enjoy it and learn lots of interesting stuff. It's presented in a very "user-friendly" format with incredible photography and videography, and I think children and young people particularly benefit from seeing the work that scientists, some of them young adults themselves, do. For whatever reason that you have included these "extras", they are a bad idea. If you put them into other programs, people will stop watching NG. For whatever it's worth, I will.
