First off - I'm pretty horrified that there aren't a few thousand positive comments on these pages, particularly regarding the ice making. Stellar work.

Also.

My first attempt yielded cracks throughout the ice, and I'm trying to narrow down my failures. I had a 3" deep 9x12 pan, seemingly made of aluminum, potentially having an air gap/insulative properties. What gives?
