The largest prison in Georgia – known as Jackson – absorbs a flood of new inmates, while three prisoners struggle to adapt to the reality of life behind bars. A first-timer struggles with the dangers that surround him. An old timer despairs that the prison world he once knew has forever changed. And an outsider finds that his hustling skills help him become accepted. Four hours south, at Coastal State Prison, a crop of young inmates enter Boot Camp, a new rehabilitation program that emphasizes discipline. But they quickly find themselves struggling to survive life within the punishing daily routine.
