Rocky Recovery
Terrain is not always easy in the Sierras. The roads are made by mother nature making it interesting to do a recovery on the Rubicon Trail. A four-wheel vehicle had become totally disabled and had to be brought out by the company.
-
Dangerous Curves
Before there were guardrails installed on the sharp corners of Donner Pass accidents were often off the road and dangerous for rescue personnel.
-
Driving Hazards
The "S Curves" often proved hazardous to trucks that were going too fast or lost their brakes.
-
Tough Tow
This is an example of the ingenuity needed to be a tow driver in the Sierras. Multiple tow trucks were required to recover a Semi 400' down a cliff in the Truckee River.
-
Smashed Truck
Getting the truck up a 400' cliff can be difficult at best, getting it back to the tow yard is also an interesting task for the tow driver where there isn't a flat bed truck to put the vehicle on.
-
Sunken Vehicle
Recovery in the snow is not an easy task but is made more difficult when the car goes swimming. This vehicle had been parked safely but became disengaged and rolled in the water.
