Inside Combat Rescue: Fire Suppression Training
PJs and CROs participate in fire suppression training with assistance from Army firefighters at Kandahar Airfield.
Thanks to the National Geographic Channel for featuring our TRI-MAX 30 Wheeled compressed air foam system. An extra special thanks goes out to the servicemen and women for the work they’re doing overseas! The system shown contains 30 gallons of foam solution that produces approximately 600 gallons of high energy finished foam. It also allows for a minimum 75-foot standoff distance. It’s great to see the 30 Wheeled CAF in action, effectively neutralizing aircraft fires safely without requiring personnel to get too close to the fire. One more thing - to avoid getting foam on yourself while deploying the unit, simply tighten the nozzle. We're happy to send info on how to do that. Great job all! www.trimax.us
Thanks to these PJ's for their service!!
Tip for the Intelagard Macaw backpack operators that could save their lives...make initial attack on the fire with the smoothbore nozzle which will give about 30' of throw to the foam...the mid-X nozzle shown in the video is designed for mop up operations although it does expand the foam to a 70:1 ratio (1 gal of liquid becomes 70 gals of foam). Let us know if you'd like to see some better alternatives to the "foam in the face" handcarts :-) www.intelagard.com
It might have been better to show the PJ selection process and everything they go through to become PJ's. Cut out the standing around sections and use the action sequences with some of the personal reflections to fill in and give people something they can relate to. Otherwise, I don't see a lot reason for people to want to watch.
It was a little slow and it was hard to sit through the entire show. There were long stretches of watching facial expressions waiting for the horn to blow. It was kind of like watching firemen at the fire station between fires.
