Inside The Vietnam War
This war was and remains a classic example of a nation taking for granted the gullability of innocent boy/man to do their dirty work. I regret volunteering let alone serving 22 years. I wasted 22 years of my life for nothing thanks to the media and socialists/liberals. I doubt that Nat. Geo. like the rest will ever tell the truth. I highly advise a young adult to keep a detailed diary every day and have a lawyer on retainor. Almost 60,000 Americans died in vain.
I am a Vietnam war veteran. This one-sided piece of pro-war propaganda is not worthy of the National Geographic. The Americans who died in vain there did so because they were in a place where they did not belong, fighting a war that should not have been fought. Their real enemy was the American politicians who exploited American ignorance of geography and history to send the Army on a fool's errand, until the people at home eventually woke up and Congress cut off the funding for the war. You did not tell that part of the story, and you gave no hint of why the Vietnamese fought so fiercely and at such terrible sacrifice to expel the American invasion.
