Episode "Chaos in California"
Nat Geo please if you are going to continue to show episodes of lockdown Please take the time to follow up on the people in the stories you put out there. People get invested in the stories and want to know the outcome the people involved. You spend how much money and time to film produce and show them, take the time to add updates on people to your website. I have spent 2 hours looking for answers to no avail. Come on guys and gals you can do better than that for your viewers...
Wow, I've seen the episode several times, and it leads the viewers to think Brian and Michelle are facing a sentence of life in prison or 25+ years. I'm glad to hear most charges were dropped (if this is accurate). We don't need our people in such a chithole as a california prison. Stay strong! - John
@Brian Phillipson, I just watched a rerun of your episode and wanted to look up the sentencing. This was all I came across. I'm glad you both are doing well and have your family back together. However, regarding your comment: "Arlan Snider, he has still to this day not been brought to trial, or held acountible for the crimes against my wife." I looked up that name and came across the Greyhound bus accident and Arlan Snider was credited with saving several people in the crash. Would you mind sharing what you're referring to?
As far vas Arlan Snider, he has still to this day not been brought to trial, or held acountible for the crimes against my wife. Since Michelle's release we've managed to pull our life back together again. It hasn't been easy for either of us, but we have our family back together, we're both attending college full time, and doing our best to put this nightmare behind us, and get on with life again. I'd like to thank everyone who has been there for us through this ordeal, and leant there support for Michelle, I, and our family. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
From court records in Sac:
Michelle Vasquez plead No Contest to the Mayhem charge and received a 4 year sentence. The other 4 counts (1.Inflict great bodily harm- 2.Assault with a firearm- 3.Assault w/a deadly weapon other than a firearm- 4.false imprisonment) were dismissed. Her husband Brian Philipson went to trial and was acquitted of all charges. However, he plead no contest to the unlawful taking of a vehicle (charges stemming from a separate incident) and received a 3 year sentence.
I watched this episode once before and I looked for information on the two of them at that time and could not find anything. I've checked the California offenders lists, looked for newspaper articles and searched public records and found nothing. The only place they are mentioned together is in this episode.
How rotten of the show stage a couple to make the show more interesting.
I wonder at this point if those were even their real names. Also, if the mother in law was also involved where was she? No mention of where she was housed or anything. MMMMM?
Does anyone know what sentence Vasquez and Phillipson got??
Please email me if you do.
Just curious, thank you!
Wondering... how is it that a search for more information on Michelle Vasquez, and Brian Philipson come up with nothing. I mean NOTHING, except this episode? I would have thought that something like a crime of that degree would have made the news, but nothing. No case info, no arrest info, nothing... and no follow-up information regarding a case docket. Hoping that people weren't "planted" for hype!
@Brian PhillipsonJust saw your story on NatGeo from a few years back. Your honesty and commitment to your wife and innocence came through in your segment on the show. Glad to see a jury saw it that way as well. It's refreshing to see justice actually prevails in this country. Keep up the fight brother. Good wishes and happy New Year.
Big Up's to Sac
