When I was under the Cave of the Winds I was looking up at the guys through a long lens (40x). All of the sudden, I hear "Ping, PING! PING" on the tripod... I looked down to see small rocks coming down the cliff and hitting it. I look up, and Darcy yelled, "Get the hell out of there!" So I grabbed the tripod and took off. HUGE rocks went flying down right where I was standing...pretty scary. I wish I could say that was the only time I was in a dangerous camera position, but it’s the best place for the coolest shot!

Another day, we had a really important visit from Daniel where he had to inspect a huge crack in a rock and decide what to do with it at the Maid of the Mist. Sounds fine except it was downpour raining all day! Our camera rain-covers were soaked thru and were dripping onto the Sony cameras. I was worried the whole time that the entire production would short out! We kept shooting through all of it, and the rock stabilization crew didn't even notice the rain. They had no problem swinging around on their ropes even though it was like 35 degrees and soaking. It was really pretty ridiculous. There were a couple of times I looked over at Justin (the director) and he just looked back and smiled in his yellow rubber rain suit…and we kept shooting. Hopefully the viewers will get a taste of that when they watch the show!

I hope they remember that for everything they see on the screen, there was a CAMERAMAN swinging from a rope, hanging from a harness, or standing in the freezing rain to tell that story.
