All-Terrain Transformer
-
Starting Point
When Travis has trouble with his mud-riding all-terrain vehicle, he decides they should make a suit that turns a human into a vehicle, just like a Transformer! It takes a lot of planning and welding while the Rednecks figure out how to create a “wearable” ATV… that’s also safe enough for a human driver. So the guys bring in a children's ATV, the starting point for the transformer.

Discussing the Build
The first step is to create a wooden mock-up of the suit to test its ability to fold. The guys begin building a folding frame that Travis can wear. They build a wooden cage around his torso, with locking hinges that connect to his arms and legs. Plywood disks are turned into makeshift wheels that are attached to the suit’s legs and arms.
-
Stuck on All Fours
When it’s finally complete, Travis straps on the wooden mock-up and attempts to transform into a vehicle. Each piece folds perfectly until Travis is down on all fours, rolling like an ATV! The only problem – he’s stuck! “Help, I’ve transformed and I can’t get up!”

Human Transformer
The Rednecks realize their frame is going to demand some serious re-engineering. After a trip to the store and a few cool toy electrical vehicles later, the guys have enough to power a transformer suit.
