I do not think that anyone should have come at the bottom position. Everyone is my favorite. But we can't help anyone from coming last

At first I thought that Marty risked too much. But then I realized that this is for the show, he wants to entertain us, so that's why he chose always the risky paths. So now I vote for Marty. But as an average tourist, who wants to visit the beautiful Alaska once, I think I would choose Willi as my guide. I love this show, thanks for all the participants and Nat Geo.

I was under the wrong impression that this was Marty`s blog /// Since it isn`t my previous comment and video is dedicated to all participants and fans of this awesome series (-:

Hey Marty-- My son (Amitai) and I just finshed watching all the episodes - We truly enjoyed and totally fell in love with Alaska /// We liked all 8 guys each for his own unique character and specialities- But you for sure added great drama - spirit and humor...Because you seemed to be the musical talent I`m sending you a link to a song I wrote a couple years back called -Alaska...Which we play with my band -The Dry Bones on the other side of the globe (Israel)...Hope you enjoy and hoping they`ll be more seasons to come - All the best   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLYEwzo4NuU

I am a huge fan of the show; this is my absolute favorite show on television! Still, I am a little disheartened by the voting results as they are clearly rigged. Anyone who has seen the show would concur that Marty should not be anywhere near the bottom of the voting and likewise, Austin should not be anywhere near the top. Marty represents the true Alaskan spirit. I heard a rumor from a couple of my friends here in Medora that there might be a Season 2 of the show; if this is true and Austin does not make the cut, he surely will have a lot of explaining to do as to why his votes are exponentially greater than the rest of the cast. I do not understand the type of individual that likes to put others down to make themselves look better; in the end, those types of people are self-centered and discourteous to the others. I think Alaska represents everything that is real, everything that is authentic. That is the true spirit of Alaska and its people, which Marty very much represents. I can't wait to see if there is another season; if so, this may be very telling as to the true results of the voting! Go Marty! If Austin would have put a little more thought into his rigging, he would have rigged it so that he was perhaps slightly above Spot #2, but certainly not almost double the #2 spot. Come on, that makes it way too obvious; plan ahead next time Austin.

i wish the voting was different so that you could only see the top three.... i feel bad for Brent,  or anyone who would have been last... Brent, if you ever read this- your not last in my book, none of you are :) <3

Thanks Nat GEO for putting on a great Alaskan show.  I enjoyed every show. Every show made you want to watch it to the end. The show has shown a lot of people of different ages how to survive out in the wilderness by your self. I give all of the guy's kudos to all of the men. Young and Old. You all are Alaskan Men. My family and friends and I favor the young buck ( Austin ) because he is my nephew. Love you Austin. Very proud of you. I know how much you love to be in Alaska. How exciting to be able to experience something like this. I know when you were out doing your guiding jobs you loved every minute of it. This was something so special you will never forget.. You were very blessed to be out in the wilderness will 7 special men. Young and Old. I think You All did a wonderful job staying alive!!!                   Nat GEO, I sure hope the 2nd season is as good as this one. Can't wait to see All the same guy's in it.      Willi and Austin you both ROCK!!   See ya next season. Good Luck To You All.

I am trying to create a flight simulation for the drop-off and extraction points starting with episode #1.  Was the drop-off for episode 1 in water or land. I am trying to find the location exactly. I know the pick up location but need help with the drop-off point.  I have the online map but it is not precise enouigh

This has been the perfect mix of true Alaskans-with their knowledge, respect of each other and the Alaskan environment, young and older.  I have enjoyed each episode, and being an Alaskan for 20 years, have learned new survival skills/tips.  I think the episode that truly touched me was when Marty's son went ahead and could not be found, and their reunion.  Thanks for a great show~

It's been a long time since I fell in love with a television show but thanks to this show that has all changed. I have truly enjoyed each episode...so much so that when it airs again later in the evening, I watch it again. Each man brought something special and I loved them all. As tempting as it to vote for a favorite, I can't bring myself to choose one over another.

I appreciate all of the cast members but Austin truly was my favorite cast member. He demonstrated humility through seeking to learn from those who knew more, really worked well in teams and seemed like the most honest member of the cast. I only wish Austin was favored more by viewers. I hope there is extra footage from the show and that they continue to find support in exploring Alaska! Loved the show! Thanks National Geographic TV and Ultimate Survival Alaska Cast.

Okay!  I am impressed with all the upbeat and positive comments!  Reflective of how awesome this show really is.  Can not wait to see the last episode....the finale!!!!!  So love to see that Matt is up there, I love this guy! I mean LOVE this guy!

This show is the BEST!  These men are professional outdoors men.  They are true comrades, revolving  leadership and skills they bring to the event.  Go NAT GEO!  Hope you can figure out a way to bring the team back in another season.

I cant believe Marty is losing, it would be Marty, then a Seavey then maybe Tyler, but Austin is up on #2 by double?!?  What is this American idol where we can just vote 8 million times.  Even if you win you know you really lost Austin.

Kat Krupa
Kat Krupa

Let me get this straight. Ultimate Survival Alaska is about surviving in the Alaskan territory with no help. Yet when they are stranded on a beach, they curl up in a tent and wait to be saved. Disappointment. I, at the very least, expected the Seavey brothers to save the lot.

Billie Clifton
Billie Clifton

My favorites are Austin, Dallas, and Tyrell.  As for Marty, well I don't think he's that awesome, makes a lot of mistakes to my way of thinking, thinks he's all that but comes up short in  my opinion.

Steve Dyson
Steve Dyson

@Rosie Little Your wild accusations of vote rigging strike me as quite petty and bitter. Do you have any evidence? Can you demonstrate any occasion where Austin was anything but respectful to other cast members? Is it so hard to believe that other people may have different opinions? I'm not the biggest Austin fan but I much prefer him to Marty. I found Marty to be arrogant, loud-mouthed and not a little foolhardy, proving himself to be a liability on more than one occasion. The Seavey brothers were the true stand outs of this show for me, my friends and family who followed the show also tend to agree. Have a nice day anyways, different strokes I guess.

@Fredrick Aley If I remember right, they step off a float plane in the first episode. So maybe water.

@Rose Raintree I know what you mean Rose.  Just want to say have a great time in Alaska.  The anticipation is well worth the wait.  It is so beautiful up there and you will not be disappointed.

@S. Nicks  You might be right about the comments.  BUT....what about the voting??? What do you guys think, where would YOU put your favorites if YOU were controlling the voting?  Just curious.........come on, lets hear from you fans out there!

L. Weber
L. Weber

@Rob Spynal - To be honest with you, all the survivalists are winners. I have consistently maintained that the voting has tarnished what is an otherwise great show.

Devon Rosen
Devon Rosen

@Kat Krupa - The group was in a remote area where apparently it was not safe enough for the group to be picked up. It would have been foolhardy to leave with the inclement weather and with no way to contact anyone. They stayed in one place, together, where they were expected to be. I am sure it was a difficult decision but the right one. What would you have suggested they do?

Mason T.
Mason T.

@Billie Clifton Good choice on Dallas & Tyrell, they are an amazing team!  Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't all the cast made mistakes!  Your favorites you just mentioned, one just dropped their knife in the last episode and got real cold because of it.  Austin almost fell in a crevasse and wasn't wearing crampons, if I am not correct.  Brent a& Tyler broke their paddles. Matt got lost. None of the cast comes up short, THEY are all hardcore men.  Don't post to back up the reason why Marty is last.  It is tacky and immature!  TRY real hard to remember, each survivavor is portrayed as Nat Geo wants them to be portrayed! Bottom line that is, an ESTABLISHED FACT!

Mason T.
Mason T.

Let me guess...you've NEVER met Marty in person?! If you haven't your opinion is crap!!

Kristen M.

@Mason T..  My family LOVES this show!!!  All the men are GREAT!!!  On our trip to Alaska we ran into Matt Raney!    He is an awesome individual!!!  However we wish they'd give him more of a roll in the show!  I think all the men deserve to not have the voting be a part of this show!  They are all out there doing the same thing...things that most of us likely can not do!   I hope to see more and more seasons of this show!  This show rocks!!!

Laurie B.
Laurie B.

@L. Weber @Rob Spynal - I couldn't agree with you more.  Like I said before, I just started watching last week and I'm catching a few reruns today.  Alaska is just so beautiful.  I couldn't begin to attempt some of the things these men put themselves through.  Most likely I would have broken a leg or been eaten by a bear in the first hour!  I think they should take some of the folks who talk negatively about the contestants  and put them on Ultimate Survivor and see how they do.  When it's all said and done, it's still just a reality show made purely for entertainment purposes.

Rob Spynal
Rob Spynal

@Devon Rosen @Kat Krupa He'd rather see them get lost and die, makes for more entertaining TV.  But seriously leaving that beach would have been the stupidest thing to do in a survival situation like that.

Courtney Leaidicker
Courtney Leaidicker

@Mason T. @Billie Clifton The only one I have trouble liking is Austin and maybe that is because he is so young, but only two years younger that Dallas, I believe.  He also seemed much more clumsy in earlier episodes, but I wonder how much of that was staged so he could be the hero when he shot the goose with his bow.  Either way, I respect him along with the rest of the group.  This isn't a stroll in the park or a lazy Sunday hike.  These guys are out there in unpredictable weather, hungry, wet, cold and possibly in territory that no other man has stepped foot in.  I appreciate all of their unique personalities and survival skills.  They each bring something to the rest of the group.  I do have to say that Tyler is my favorite!!!  I love that he is a risk taker, and being that he sometimes has to accept responsibility for those risks.  But it sure does make for some fun times!!!  I also think he is intelligent and able to fix things and see situations from a unique perspective. (i.e. getting the huge raft into the water, repairing the paddles he broke, and fixing the broken canoe his and Brent were given.  I also just love listening to Marty and Willi; they have so much experience and insight to give to the rest of the group.  I love the show, definitely my favorite!!!  Keep up the great work guys!!!

@Steve Dyson @Mason T. Mason & Rosie are right...the voting is rigged! Anyone can sit at the computer and rack up hundreds and thousands of votes in just a few minutes.  Look at earlier posts....this IS OLD NEWS!  But all have got past it and been enjoying the show!  Second season IS coming and will be the turning point for some of these cast members.  And some will be missed.....

Steve Dyson
Steve Dyson

@Mason T. It was just that mate, my opinion. I have a right to it and you have a right to yours. I know who I'd rather be stuck in the wild with, go pick a fight elsewhere you keyboard warrior.

@Courtney Leaidicker - Here is what I found out on the survivalists:

Matt – spent 28 days on Mt. McKinley

Marty - led 17 trips up Denali, the highest peak in North America

Brent - done six 1,000-mile dog sledding expeditions for the Yukon Quest

Willie - led climbs to Mt. Sajama, Cho-Oyu, Island & Mera Peak and multiple guided ascents of Denali and in Mexico, Ecuador and Bolivia. Considered to be one of the world's leading climbing and logistical experts in the region

Tyrell - hiked the 2,200 mile Appalachian Trail and run the Iditarod a number of times

Tyler - climbed to 27,000 feet with no oxygen in Kathmandu, Nepal, and has climbed some of the highest peaks in Alaska

Dallas – at 25 became the youngest person to ever to win the Iditarod

Austin – No accomplishments found except to eat berries found in bear feces
