Ultimate Survival Alaska: Team Profile: The Military
Take a look at Team Military, three veterans of America's elite military forces who have received some of the finest survival and firearms training in the world.
Best wishes to Rudy for a speedy recovery. Having climbed a lot of trees in my lifetime and watched tree climbing competition in Logging shows. I wasn't sure of that tree with those limbs. My husband and I watch this every week. I'm rooting for Grady and Jared now. I hope they win. But they all deserve to win. It's a great show.
It sucked to see Rudy being hurt; as one of the team members said he is a motivator and it was showing. I LOVE the fact the military is doing excellent not because I am bias, well maybe I am LOL....When he was climbing that tree I figured something was going to happen....Pretty much all of these guys take risks and you are starting to see that more in the show.
Rudy, frankly you are one tough dude because I know people in the military who have broken their ankle's and screamed for what seemed hours and they were just as much special forces tough as you my friend. I don't know if the show was just editing that out but that is some dedication to your team my friend and you would be an honor to meet in person. I hope your recovery goes well and is painless as it can be.
Team Military is my favorite . My family has a long history of military service and I don't think there is any finer way to serve this great nation. My heart and prayers are with all of those who have served, are serving or are will serve and protect our freedom. THANK YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
A soldier, a sailor and a grunt... figures. Whats the matter NatGeo, too scared to use the 210th? Afraid they'd destroy your "competion" I bet, heh.
@Barbara Amand "Fruity Rudy" is actually a nickname he picked up while in service from the guys in his unit. It's not meant as an insult at all. Watch "Generation Kill" (where Rudy plays himself) and you'll get it.
@Michael Vines - The Gear is usually made of Gortex which is not cheap. It FAR LESS expensive to get it used from Military Surplus stores like the jackets pants etc. Its pretty standard gear. People think it's 100% water proof; it's not; it's water resistant but it nice to use in light rain conditions, and the best part your skin can breathe in it. If you watched the last nights episode you saw rude covered in a rain resistant poncho which are nice because they keep you somewhat dry while your body can keep from overheating. Also you can get Gortex Jacket/Pant liners which warm you up in the coldest conditions.
While I was writing this message I looked up Gortex clothing on REI; Gortex jackets were $300-$600 where at a surplus store in Northern California is $100-$150. As far as the weapons I cant help you with that since small arms is not my specialty field. I do know they are carrying side arms and 12 gauge shot guns.
