 Did they ever investigate the crew? Perhaps there was no D B Cooper and it was the flight crew the whole time. Including the attendant that was let off the plane with the passengers.  The money was thrown out at a specified time and place, attached to the parachute which was already deployed,  to some one waiting on the ground. They bury a small amount and the rest along with the mysterious Mr Cooper who never was disappears. It makes more sense then some one just falling off the face of the earth with all evidence.
