The consensus of the top scientists say worst case scenarios like this are a possibility in the next 40-100 years.

Yet most people just want to hold their heads in the sand.

This is the most ridiculous hoax and fear mongering being perpetrated on the American people. Another baseless docufear that has been debunked. In a decade, National Geographic will do another documentary on global freezing, like the scientists told us it was inevitably happening in the 80s.

what is the hidden price of our energy consumption and how much could the temperature rise over the next 100 years?

@Pablo Riboldi  you do realize that you are completely and 100% incorrect on this? We have done far to much tampering with the way the world functions as of this point in history we have far to many people on this planet and its because we were able to grow because of fossil fuel use. Now like any civilization we must fall. Its inevitable and if you choose to look the other way and not become proactive in a changing world i guess we are doomed to hit rock bottom because of that kind of thinking is what got us here now...

@Pablo Riboldi Why don't you present your own "scientific facts"  to scientific journals with the usual peer-review? Because you are not a scientist and your arguments to try and discredit the science are only emotive. And you even believe that the thousands of climate scientists linked to all the renowned academies or universities in the world are wrong or conspiring together, while the real conspiracy is with the oil industry and its lobby groups trying to cast doubt on climate change science by having investied millions in 'anti-science' because of greed.

Please check your sources and remember that Einstein already wrote in 1920, ""This world is a strange madhouse. Currently, every coachman and every waiter is debating whether relativity theory is correct. Belief in this matter depends on political party affiliation."
Replace relativity theory for climate change science......the same ignorance and arrogance happening right now but with a lot more at stake! Now I've got a young daughter of 10 and I'm getting really angry with 'climate change deniers', who are prepared to gamble with the state of our planet and its next human generation!
