With the price of gold hovering near $1,400 an ounce, there's a modern-day gold rush happening in Canada's Yukon. NGC follows three mining crews as they battle the elements, each other and 18-hour days under the midnight sun in search of the “mother lode.” Just a few weeks into the mining season, the crews face equipment problems that could lead to bankruptcy. For Ken Foy and his partner Guillaume Brodeur, it's a broken sluice, an instrumental device that separates gold from mud.
