Meet the Preppers: Jeff Bushaw

"I'm preparing for the Yellowstone Supervolcano."

Jeff Bushaw is a full-time prepper in Vancouver, Washington, where he lives with his wife and two sons. He is prepping for the eruption of the Yellowstone super-volcano. To prepare, Jeff has purchased land in an undisclosed location where he and his family can bug-out to in just such a scenario. Jeff has stockpiled a year’s worth of food at his bug-out location and has also begun to store food at his home in case they are forced to bug-in. Fearing the roads might be congested or closed down, Jeff is taking flying lessons to ensure that he’ll have an alternative way to get his family to safety. He also frequents storage unit auctions to find discarded items that might be useful resources in a post-apocalyptic world.

Approximately 600-miles from his home sleeps a volcanic caldera that measures 34x45-miles. If it were to blow, and it has, America would be crippled and the ramifications would have catastrophic global consequences. In a small aircraft, Jeff plans to outrun the devastation. In the air he avoids congested roads and has the ability to move fast.
