Man v. Cheetah
I watched this last night. And in my opinion see it as a huge waste of time and resources. Why not use the money and resources to expose the syndicate's behind the Rino poaching here in South Africa.
Besides if you want a human to challenge a cheetah let the poor human chase down a Impala or Zebra in the velt and not in some man made enclosure and then telly the scores. It would be a lot more interesting to watch any way.
We hv seen this through now come up with something intresting a grey hound n a cheetah t wil be much of something to watch cause this wasnt much of intrest ...
I agree with every comment. None of the races were conducted fairly, but were all designed to give the humans an unfair adavantage. The cheetah was deliberately slowed at the beginning of each race and the lure was placed beyond the line and not even modulated to account for the cheetah's turning radius. The cheetah does not race but runs without regard to straight lines. As one commentator said-Put the cheetah behind the man and see who wins.
I agree with every comment. All the races were rigged so the football players would win. The humans were given a head start and the cheetahs lures were not placed properly at the lines and so many things were wrong with this segment. NONE of the runners beat the cheetahs., so stop spreading this falsehood. If another human were in the races, they would have been declared grossly unfair.
I thought sure you would put on a fair race. To think, in the first place the Cheetah never gets a chance to come up to speed, in the second place it would have been nice if you had opened the gate for the Cheetah at the same time you said go. You also knew that the Cheetah would be running into the lure line and the cat may get caught up in it as it did, making the turns. You really disappointed me on this Nat GEo program.
The cheetah's feet were caught up in the pulley line in the 3rd turn against Hester, she was stuck! Go back and watch it again. Hester got a head start and didn't touch the line.
I wish they'd of just run one run 100 m head to head just so you could see how much the cheetah won by. I don't care if they'd of later gone on to handicap the cheetah in some way, but I would like to have seen one race head to head.
This show infuriated me. I'm surprised NatGeoWild would do something so stupid. A Cheetah can run 60mph. Even Hussein Bolt, the fastest runner known, can't top 30mph. So what do they do? They give the football player an entire length head-start... the Cheetah has to turn like 2 or three times (a u-turn) She has to run way past the lines (she doesn't know that she's in a ridiculous competition with a man! Put that man on an even 100 meter sprint starting line. Put the cheetah on an adjacent starting line. That at least makes it a fair start! Then do the lure thin and see what happens. Why is it that human beings must try to prove (even if they have to cheat, like in this show) that they are superior to any animal in every way! The Cheetah is highly endangered. The only real "claim to fame" they have is their incredible speed. This show was not only an insult to Cheetahs everywhere, it was a farce!!
Not only will the Cheetah win, it will win with giving little effort. The cheetah isn't running for survival and will not run full speed, whereas the human knows and understands it's in a competition and will try its hardest!
I think if they want the football players to make it a contest against a cheetah on Man Vs Cheetah, they better allow them about a 60 yard head start.
@George Ramsay Cool bro that is awesome
