A Friend For Amigo

Meet Amigo
Every year thousands of Galgos (Spanish Greyhounds), Spain’s most mistreated breed, are abandoned or killed after outliving their usefulness. They are bred for hunting. Amigo is one of these abandoned dogs. A well-intentioned lady in the Netherlands adopted Amigo online from a Spanish shelter but it turned out not to be a great match. She wasn't a strong leader and Amigo became aggressive on the leash; he attacked several neighborhood dogs and had to wear a muzzle when being walked.

Watching Behavior
Cesar decides it’s time to put Amigo to the test with other dogs and assess his aggressiveness. Cesar Millan looks on as Peter leads Amigo toward another dog on a leash and it becomes very clear that Amigo has a dog aggression issue, when he viciously lunges at the female dog used for the test. Cesar decides rehabilitation is impossible without the pack! It’s time to find Amigo a new leader and three new candidates are up for the challenge.

The family and Herbie enter Amigo’s kennel and the dogs share the same calm energy, Amigo behaves respectfully to the family. Both dogs are serene, but they don’t seem interested in each other. Will they make a compatible match? Cesar will have the last word.
