Meet Mambo
After years of being the king of the castle, cute old Mambo, ended up back in the shelter. Mambo is a 7 year old neutered cross-breed male Jack Russell, who was originally found on the streets as a stray. He was placed with an older couple that treated him like a king; but was returned to the shelter a few years later because he was aggressive toward their grandchildren. Now Mambo is a homeless old mutt with a really spoiled attitude! Mambo is seen here showing off his balance to Cesar while standing on a wall.

She’s finally convinced him to get one; and here they are! Meeting Mambo starts with a lot of excitement on both sides. The challenge is to take Mambo out of a crate, that’s inside a car and have him walk by other dogs. Wendy is the first one to start and her skills are surprisingly good, despite her excitement.

Meet the Candidates: Henk and Sylvia
The Bruggink family are the next canddiates to meet Mambo. Henk and Sylvia have come along with their three teenage daughters: Sam, Joannie and Donna. Sylvia is a big fan of implementing rules in her own household; and totally agrees with Cesar that it’s the only way to achieve a balanced pack! Sylvia’s biggest concern about adopting a new pet is making sure the new dog won’t disturb their 14 year old cat. During the challenge with Mambo Henk takes the lead, but his lack of knowledge with dogs makes him tense and Cesar must correct his way of handling Mambo.

Meet the Candidates: Dana and Gina
The last ones to meet Mambo is a couple, Dana and Gina. They have never shared the custody of a dog but they already have two cats at home. They’re dog savvy and manage to lead Mambo firmly, especially Dana. Gina has a softer energy and Cesar advises her not to hesitate with Mambo or else, this clever boy, will take over. Gina really likes Mambo from the beginning and feels touched by his story.

Putting Mambo to the Test
Mambo meets another dog from his cage before being taken to the Challenge course. Cesar Millan decides to test Mambo’s poor social skills, putting him with other dogs from his pack. Mambo has a pushy attitude with other dogs, especially females; and it becomes pretty clear to Cesar that Mambo is going to need a leader who can give him exercise and discipline.
