Cesar Rehabilitates Janna
After evaluating Janna in the agility field with the pack, it becomes clear to Cesar that it’s not a neurological problem. The lack of purpose in life for such a working active breed can lead to this kind of behavior. Janna needs a job!

Meet Janna
Janna is a four-year-old Belgian Malinois that was picked up as a stray and re-homed three years ago. The death of her elderly owner brought her back to the shelter. Since then, Janna has become highly stressed. The incarceration and the lack of purpose in the shelter have damaged Janna to the point where she has developed an abnormal self-mutilation behavior. She bites her hips and nipples repetitively to the point it bleeds. Janna needs an owner who can satisfy her needs and give her a purpose in life.

Meet The Candidates: Wendy Can Loenen and Brian de Kort
Meet the first young couple Cesar meets willing to give Janna a home. Wendy and Brian already have a sweet old rescue dog, Rosa. She is a German Sheppard mix that had her share of issues, but slowly overcame them with the help of the couple. When the dogs meet, Rosa's leadership is established and after a little quarrel, Janna is triggered with an anxious reaction that gets her biting herself again.

Wendy, Brian and Rosa
Candidates Wendy, Brian and Rosa are making their way to meeting Janna.

Meet the Candidates: Evita Pronk and Craig Schwartz
The next couple to meet Janna are Evita and Craig with their problematic pit-bull, Noa. Cesar delay the meeting of Noa and Janna because he discovers that Noa has some serious excitement issues. Although Evita is a dog trainer, we see that her own pet is not yet under control. The meeting with Janna is done without Noa and turns out pretty well.

Meet the Candidates: Sven Jonsson and Gill Ilegems
The last candidates to meet Janna are the Belgian family Sven, Gill and their son Khyliam. Sven was involved in an industrial accident and suffers from chronic pain and his wife and son have helped him through this time of depression. They hope that adopting a rescue dog will reignite the happiness that is much needed in the family. Cesar has the family walk Janna one by one and is impressed at how Janna adapts to each family member and their energy.
I find this very disappointing NatGeo! Noa is not a pitbull....she is an American Staffordshire Terrier. There is a difference. Also, Evita is not a dog trainer. She is in the Master program for architecture. I wouldn't expect these fabrications and hope you do better during the show!
