Monsters of the Nile

Published
Aquatic ecologist Zeb Hogan fishes for Nile perch at the base of the Murchison Falls. The waterfall once formed an impassible barrier that kept Nile fish from traveling just a few hundred kilometers upstream into Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile, but the fish were introduced into the lake in the 1950s.

Zeb comes face to face with aquatic predator the Nile perch as it competes with giant crocs and catfish. Later, he investigates the stories he's heard that this fish - and the people who depend on it - could be in trouble.
