"I'm preparing for WWIII."

Freda is a backwoods, southern women living in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. She is entirely self-sufficient and prides herself on being a descendant of the infamous Hatfield family's leader, Devil Anse Hatfield. Like her ancestors, Freda, has learned to brave the wilds of Virginia. Freda enjoys spending her days with her boyfriend Mike, cooking and preserving delicious meals made from scratch tending to her homestead. She believes that economic unrest and political tensions are leading to a rogue nuclear missile taking out the American power grid. And she fears the United States will face massive chaos brought on by an ensuing World War III and Martial Law.

Freda relies on her stock of chickens as a source of food and bartering material. She anticipates that her 217 cans of preserved meats and vegetables will keep her and her boyfriend alive in a post-apocalyptic world. A solar cooker and a fresh source of water ensure the household is not short of essentials, but the two have one last surprise — a catapult they like to call ‘the Intimidator.’ Her boyfriend Mike has created throwing stars as a backup security plan during the potential martial law threat. Along with throwing stars, Freda and Mike love the do-it-yourself aesthetic and enjoy creating their own preps from nothing.
