Ultimate Competition Tracker
I've been real disappointed at many absolutely stupid, lack of safety factors I've seen in both seasons.
I could never just do this just for the challenge. Give me a proper incentive and I'll show these guys how to MOVE fast and safe.
My team: Military- Rudy (give him another chance), My cousin (recon scout), and myself (airborne infantry).
If I could convince them to do 4-man teams, I'd add a green beret familiar with the terrain, but I'd survive with a jarhead (jk).
Nancy- You said it all. I love this show ! Very addicted to it! Can't wait for next season.
I am glad when it came down to it when someone was in deadly trouble the race would wait.
Thomas Ginn- Holy cow the only one that did not need rescuing.
I do feel that 3rd to the last episode I felt it was stage in a lot of places. Am I wrong?
Endurance repels down a cliff face instead of walking around to the smaller section.
Mountaineers climb up a ice cliff face instead of going down the gravel face.
Military repels down a waterfall cliff instead of repelling down but just in the dry section.
Anyone else see this ?
I still love this show. Hoping another HOT military team joins next season !
I am now missing my Sunday evening friends and it isn't even next Sunday yet! So nice to follow a show where the people are real and are truly kind and have morals and consideration for the other contestants. I do not watch much tv because so much of it is garbage. I am very thankful that I stumbled on this show.
Thomas Ginn- you are so solid. I never saw you needing to be rescued. And I was so glad you mentioned the four contestants who had to drop out. Good on you for remembering everyone. Very classy as was your whole appearance on the show.
Tyler Johnson- glad you spotted Grady! Poignant that the military saved you and then you saved Grady. You didn't even hesitate. You were on it!
Marty Raney- you are closest to my age. Did my heart good to see you do so well in this race. I saw you always trying to see the bright side of everything.
Military - you were amazing. I cracked up the first time I saw you three coming around a bend in the river in pack rafts with your giant muscles. You looked like water buffalo paddling in shoe boxes! I voted for you to win. After Rudy was hurt, the two of you did the work of three and you did it well.
Taking 12 hours out to help another teams freezing teammate was the absolute highlight of the show. Your families must be proud beyond belief. Winning isn't everything.
Jared, I see you want a rematch with Endurance. Is this a bit of foreshadowing for next season?
Endurance - Congratulations! Job well done. You did not ever give up. Sean, I too am afraid of heights. I do not think I could do what you did. I become totally paralyzed. Kudos to you for overcoming your fear. You are an inspiration.
Eddie Ahyakak - glad some Native Alaskans were on the show. VERY interesting. You are along distance runner yet you said just last year you were over 300 lbs. Did you run when you were overweight? You are so even keel. I really liked you. I would be a little afraid to try your seal oil, though!
Dallas, what can I say. You just won the Iditarod! CONGRATULATIONS! I was pulling for you the whole way. Dallas is in 13th place? No worries. He will win. Dallas is third out of White Mtn.? No worries. He will win. Dallas is down a lot of dogs? No worries. He will win.
And he did.
I am a Den Leader for 19 Webelos Cub Scouts (11-12 year olds). We do a fair amount of camping, and nearly all are "crossing over" to Boy Scouts this month. We have been watching your show for the last two years, and would like to know if you have a "supply list" or "list of gear" team members carried during the trip. We spend a lot of time preparing the scouts for camping, and we often use "supply lists" to help them think about what they need to pack. Do you have such a list for your outdoor experts? We're not concerned with brands (e.g. REI 110 backpack), but would be really interested in knowing what each member "carried" with them during the adventure. Thank you, Den 56 of Havertown, PA
Best show on television. We absolutely love it! Can't wait for next season! Hope Dallas returns and Marty and the Mountaineers and the Military. They were all fantastic! We sat at the edge of our seats during each show. Amazing to watch their completing each challenge! Wouldn't miss it.
Ilove this show and I feel in love with Alaska in August when I was there...anysingle guys there that need a helping hand??? tag me on facebook...I can and would relocate there in a heartbeat!!!
Go team army with pride, honor, integrity, and respect. You have our vote. Without you not only would the mountaineers be out of the competition, but their teammate could have died had Jared and Grady not found him.

Ok we were out taped show.So who falls into the water at the end? Good ole Marty. If they win then it is staged.
Best TV we have seen in years. We don't want it to end. Love them all. But go Endurance team. You came up from behind. You have our vote
Love, love, love this show. have been to alaska several times and this show gives you all the different types of terrain, weather, mountains, ice. Real stamina to run through the woods and water with full packs. Also love seeing them happy to see each other at the end despite it being a competition and taking time out to look for Tyler even tho it cost them time. Real people who care about people!!!!
Reruns are on Saturday and Sunday afternoon where i live so everyone should be able to catch up on episodes.
Hope this show continues. So fun to watch!!!!!
We love this show, particularly since we visited Alaska 3 years ago. Obviously our tour did not take us to this sites. Great production. m
I look forward to this show every week. The scenery is outstanding, the wildlife is beautiful and the men so capable.
I do wish I could see a team of women enduring the different difficulties successfully. After each show I go, GREAT, but I lack the upper body strength of the men so how would I get from point A to point B. Women have different capabilities and think differently than men. I would like to see female problem solving skills, too. I fear if the women were distributed throughout the teams with the men that their point of view could get muffled.
I am with the Gear Junkies who have written in. Nat Geo had a Guts and Glory episode, how about a Backpack Story!
Am I the only one who is pretty sure that Endurance is going to win the tenth leg so that going into the last leg the score is all tied up?
Lastly, I wish I could vote for the Military Team through this Sign In, but every time I click to vote I get shuffled to Facebook. I do not keep a Facebook account. Wish I could just vote through Nat Geo.
I'm sure that us Gear Junkies would really appreciate a section on this website (or hell, even in a dedicated episode) regarding "What's In The Bag?" What is each contestant carrying on them? Their thoughts on what works well, and what doesn't work so well. Would they adopt any type of gear that another contestant is carrying? C'mon, give us our fix please!
I Missed The Episode When Rudy Got Hurt Does Anyone Know Why The Military Is Able To Continue With A Man Out And The Woodsmen Couldn't??
L LOVE this show! I love to see MILITARY or ENDURANCE to win but ENDURANCE would have to win the 8th and 9th to catch up,what a shame that Rudy had hurt himself but at least the MILITARY can still be in the race! :) May the BEST win
Okay I was between team Endurance and team military. After tonight's episode I am team military. I just cannot tolerate team mountaineers. I fast forward through Marty's talking!
Why do they have episodes on so late? And why if they have new episodes on so late don't they play previous episodes few hours earlier? Project runway plays previous episodes in order up to new episode. Seems they want to can this show in favor of canned tuna.
I LOVE this show but miss too many episodes because of need to go to bed early to wake up early and start the work week on Monday. I wonder what their target demographic is? Unemployed? Living with parents? Retirees? Independently wealthy? Single? No kids? My kids love this show too but way past their bedtimes.
GO Team Endurance! I've got a feeling that a comeback is on it's way. Their Conditioning is unsurpassed
I see so much talk of how "fake" the show looks, etc as everyone types inside a warm building. If it looks so fake to you, don't watch it. But please just let the rest of us enjoy and talk, OK? I don't think these men are actors, but have the hobby of true survival. That said, you need a Director to make "suggestions" to each team depending on each situation. I.E. Maybe the director for the Military guys said in the last episode said "it would look good for you Rudy to climb that tree to see if you can spot the LZ". He certainly didn't ask him to practically fall out of it on the way down and break his ankle! I'm sure they knew the were 300m from the LZ before. But, a director's job is for each scene to look good or at least it's best. I root for the Underdog team MILITARY now that they're down by 1 team member!
not fairno now that military only has two. it might be easier with only two guys now. they should have a penaltynot fair military only has two guys now. they should have some kind of penalty
Lisa, thank you for reading my comment and agreeing with me!
I have no idea if things were staged. I do think the hand of a director was probably in there somehow. If one team had won the first six legs, no one else would have been able to win unless the winning team got itself disqualified. Much less drama.
Now what I'd really like to know is did any of the participants use a butt double! No, I'm not talking about the bears or the salmon.
I still liked all the scenery, animals and contestants. I hope Nat Geo picks stand up people for season three like this season because I want to continue watching and enjoying the show.
And Lisa, you said you want another HOT military team. Just one? Think big, Lisa!
@Jesse Dills That would be awesome. I love going hiking and what not too. It would be great getting some pointers from certain contestants.
Although Rudy got hurt, he was able to wobble to the LZ within the time frame given, so the team was able to continue without him. The old man from the woodsmen wasn't capable of making it to the LZ in time so they got DQ.
i think they are working with the assumption that those who cant watch when it airs own a dvr and can record to watch later
I agree with you. They are not actors as my husband knows Jimmy G. from the woodsmen. A friend of ours was very good friends with Jimmy when he lived in WV.@Doug Northrup I I
one less guy doesnt give them an advantage, how would it? two guys getting to the LZ isnt any easier than three, unless they were loosing a guy they had to carry across Alaska. In fact I'd argue the opposite..now they have one less person to help the others in a jam..and one less person to spread the gear they need between. not to mention the mental effect of loosing a team member..especially for a team of military guys..they take their "team" pretty seriously
@tom kinney Life is not fair, so get over it. Rudy contributed a great deal to the team & his skills will missed, but team military will have to go on without him. Yep, life is not fair, but that's the way it is. Boo Hoo!
